Fire Protection

Fire Alarm & Firefighting Systems

GTS supplies and installs fire alarm and firefighting systems that detect a fire at its earliest stage, warn the occupants clearly and help bring the fire under control — protecting lives, buildings and business continuity.

Fire Alarm & Firefighting Systems

What is a fire alarm system?

A fire alarm system is a network of smoke detectors, heat detectors and manual call points connected to a control panel. As soon as smoke, abnormal heat or a manual alarm is detected, the panel identifies the location, sounds the alarm through bells, sounders and flashers, and can trigger firefighting and other safety actions so that people can evacuate early and the fire can be controlled quickly.

What we deliver

Fire Alarm & Firefighting Systems: components and services

Conventional and addressable panels

From small conventional zones to addressable systems that pinpoint the exact detector in large buildings.

Smoke and heat detection

The right detector for each space — offices, corridors, stores, kitchens, plant rooms and production areas.

Manual call points and sounders

Break-glass call points at exits with bells, sounders and flashers that make the alarm impossible to miss.

Firefighting systems

Firefighting and fire-suppression equipment selected according to the hazard and the nature of the building.

Testing and commissioning

Every device is tested and the system is handed over working, with users trained on the panel.

Periodic maintenance

Scheduled inspection and testing keep the system ready at all times — the moment it is needed is not the moment to discover a fault.

Frequently asked questions

Fire Alarm & Firefighting Systems: frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a conventional and an addressable fire alarm?

A conventional system divides the building into zones and shows which zone is in alarm. An addressable system gives every detector its own address, so the panel shows the exact device and location. Conventional suits small sites; addressable suits large or complex buildings.

What does a fire alarm system consist of?

A control panel, smoke and heat detectors, manual call points, sounders and flashers, backup batteries and the cabling that connects them. Firefighting systems can be linked to the same panel.

How often should a fire alarm be maintained?

Fire systems should be inspected and tested periodically by a specialised company so that detectors, sounders and batteries are always ready. GTS provides after-sales maintenance for the systems it installs.

Can you add fire protection to an existing building?

Yes. We survey the building, propose a design that suits its layout and use, and install the system with minimum disruption to daily operation.
