Security Systems
GTS supplies metal detection systems that reveal the presence of metal objects — whether carried by a person at an entrance, hidden inside items or buried underground — helping you screen visitors and inspect sites with confidence.

A metal detector is an electrical device that can determine the presence of metal close to it. It usually consists of a portable unit with a sensor that is passed over a person, an object or the ground. When the sensor comes close to a piece of metal, the tone in the headphones changes or a needle moves on the indicator — and the closer the metal, the stronger the signal, which gives an indication of distance.

Frequently asked questions
When the sensor approaches a metal object, the tone heard in the headphones changes or the needle on the indicator moves. The signal becomes stronger as the distance gets smaller, which helps the operator locate the object precisely.
Any place that receives the public and needs to keep weapons and dangerous metal objects outside: hotels, banks, government buildings, malls, houses of worship, schools and event halls.
A gate screens a continuous flow of people quickly; a hand-held detector pinpoints where the metal is. Busy entrances usually use both: the gate first, then a hand-held check when it alarms.
